Summary

Primary Care Physicians (PCPs) provide comprehensive primary care services in an integrated behavioral health setting to CODAC members.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities

  • Assume quality of care for all patients.
  • Assumes responsibility for the primary care patient (i.e., health and social histories, physical examinations, handling of acute and chronic illnesses, differential diagnosis and treatment according to policies, procedures and regulatory agency requirements.
  • Adheres to the highest standards of medical practice, ethics, and professionalism at all times.
  • Coordinate, monitor and supervise delivery of primary care to each member.
  • Maintain continuity of each member’s health care and electronic health records to include documentation of all services provided by the PCP.
  • Assure the availability of physician services to members in accordance to established protocols.
  • Serves as preceptor to staff Family Nurse Practitioners.
  • Arrange for on-call and after-hours coverage in accordance with the after-hours se
  • Submit an encounter for each visit where the provider sees the member or the member receives a service.
  • See members for an initial office visit and assessment within the first 90 days of enrollment with the plan, for pregnant women, the first 14 days of enrollment.
  • Collaborates and consults with other allied health professionals in order to give complete patient care.
  • Maintains professional competence through participation in continuing education and other appropriate learning experiences.
  • Contributes to the understanding of nurse practitioner through public relations and interagency planning activities.
  • Maintains awareness of trends in primary care, making recommendations for appropriate changes in primary care practice.
  • Practices and promotes a philosophy of self-responsibility, and self-development.
  • Interacts politely and as a team player with all levels of staff, physicians, patients, and public.
  • Performs other related duties in accordance with agency growth and changes.


Important Notes:

Position will split hours between outpatient clinics

Skills & Requirements

EXPERIENCE:

  • Three (3) years professional clinical experience in primary care practice in either family medicine or internal medicine

CERTIFICATION/LICENSE:

  • Board Certified M.D. or D.O. licensed to practice in the state of Arizona possessing and unrestricted DEA certification.
  • Suboxone certification, a plus.
  • Bilingual, a plus

Pay Information:

  • Pay Rate: $177K to 275K depending on experience
