Job Description

Summary

Responsible for providing a variety of DUI services to CODAC members referred from the courts and DUI Screening agencies including DUI Screening, DUI Education, DUI Treatment and the completion of Motor Vehicle Department License Reinstatement packets.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Evaluates and completes DUI Screening with members referred for services.
  • Provides individual and group education and treatment interventions as determined by the results of the DUI screening.
  • Provides referrals for other supportive services on an as needed basis.
  • Assures DUI screening outcomes and adherence to recommended interventions are reported to the referring court as required by licensure standards.
  • Maintains member electronic health record in accordance with agency and funding source requirements.
  • Provides complete documentation and reporting of all services in accordance with agency and funding source requirements.
  • Provides community consultation, prevention and education services.
  • Maintains positive working relationships with referring courts, probation departments and other community agencies making referrals for DUI screening, education and treatment.
  • Participates in ongoing service planning and development.
  • Promotes agency services to the public and to specified markets.
  • Participates in ongoing program planning and development.
  • Performs other related duties in accordance with agency growth and changes.

Skills & Requirements

Education Requirements Upon Hire:

  • Bachelor’s degree in psychology, counseling or related behavioral health field plus five years’ related experience.
  • Master’s degree in psychology, counseling or related behavioral health field plus two years’ experience working with persons with mental illness and addiction disorders, and their families, preferred. 

Certificates/Licenses/Registrations:

  • At a minimum currently licensed as a by the Arizona Board of Behavioral Health at the Associate Level as a Licensed Associate Addiction Counselor (LAAC) OR Licensed Independent Addiction Counselor (LIAC)
  • Valid Arizona Driver’s license, proof of current insurance and willingness to use personal vehicle.
  • Clean Motor Vehicle Record - no more than 2 moving violations or a license suspension in past 3 years.
  • Department of Public Safety fingerprint clearance card required.
  • Bilingual- Spanish, preferred

Knowledge/Skills/Abilities:

  • Bilingual a plus.
  • Demonstrates clinical competency in accordance with standards for the position.
  •  Demonstrates competencies in accordance with CODAC standards and metrics.
  • Extensive knowledge of drugs of abuse and dynamics of abuse/addictive behavior.
  • Extensive knowledge of mental illness psychopathology.
  • Extensive knowledge of various behavioral assessments and interventions utilized in changing problematic target behavior and lifestyles.
  • Extensive knowledge and experience with individual, and group interventions.
  • Extensive knowledge of community resources.
  • Ability to communicate effectively both orally and in writing.
  • Ability to interact effectively in a team setting with other behavioral health professionals.
  • Familiarity with various ethnic and cultural groups.
  • Intermediate to advanced computer skills using MS Office products, Word, Excel, Access, etc., importing/exporting data to/from applications.  

Pay Information:

Important Notes:

  • Pay Rate (Associate): $53,000 - $70,000 annual
  • Pay Rate (Independent): $62,000 - $80,000 annual
  • Pay Comments: Salary determined on AZ License and years of relevant experience
